some of your appraisal was a little harsh.

1. Lapin looks distinctly more than an "average" player
2.Otsembor is not untried at this level he has played for stoke
3. Drury has not been "shocking". Admittedly he has not produced the same form that got him so highly regarded for a while now but still can cut it at this level

I could go on. i do agree that there still some problem areas maybe creative central midfield / playmaker and 1 central defender is needed badly but I feel the squad is looking in better shape than it has for a few seasons. I feel spilane will force his way into the team this year (really rate him) and so will smart and Martin (both very talented) but i cant agree more with the eagle thing. The lad has never looked like he can take his game to this level and so slow for a winger. I know some people have compared to downing but Downing is no slouch and doesnt look so lightwieght
