hello all just got back from two weeks in malia/crete and thought id share a few things.
the london bombings:-
shocking that these people are taught such incomprehensible values and beliefs. english people are tolerant and wish for a multicultural society where people are free to believe whatever they like providing it does not harm human life. for that reason the terrorists will not win and we will brave their evil atrocities.
such a scary thought especially if you travel on those routes regularly. i live in uxbridge and travel on the tube regularly and was on the liverpool street/aldgate train on a thursday at 8.50 three and four weeks ago. makes you realise how fragile life is.
ive been reading the posts from that day and obviously glad everyone managed to account for all there friends and family. had a similar problem with the phones myself - my girlfriend text me to say it had happened so went to a bar and watched sky news as they tried to work out what had happened and couldn't get hold of my mum who was there but found out she was safe in the end. horrible not knowing whether loved ones were ok.
what struck me about the reaction was the quality of ken livingstone and tony blairs statements. they truely captured british and london spirit.
we will remain united and the english spirit of love and respect for our fellow man will triumph over any evil.
football talk kind of seems insignificant after events like that but...
jonson going:-
good business. its a shame in a way cos i think he would have done well but happy to take the money and spend it on areas where it is needed more.
lack of signings:-
have we got no money unless we sell first? i thought we had a bit of a kitty but it looks like we havent got much. we need to get some players in and sharpish but its getting a bit late now.
the green and francis sagas:-
i still hope francis goes because i think we need the money to buy a centre back and at least one midfielder (two if he goes). however he is a good player so will be happy enough if he stays as long as it doesnt disrupt the team spirit. looks like greenos staying which is good but i wouldnt be heartbroken if we cashed in.
steve in holland:-
you usually talk sense but you were a bit insensitive in the wake of the bombings and acted like a bit of a tosser.
colney gaz:-
i'm confused. ok so he has multiple usernames. did something else happen? has he been banned?
peter thorne:-
spoke to a cardiff fan on hols who thinks he's very good - great control, strength and finishing. was he any good last night?
come on you yellows
best wishes to all
