Xbox 360 at the moment

Sold more units than PS3, has a much better selection of games, much better online playability and is much cheaper than the PS3. However, some have been known to be faulty with 'red lights' appearing, but Microsoft will swap any that are.

Problem with PS3? Far too expensive, and launched with a crap set of games. Spent too long trying to get Blu Ray in and lost months. It has however got more of a following than Xbox in Japan, but until they cut the price and get more games don't bother.

go for Wii, lots of fun - and wait till the PS3 / Xbox price cut war begins. (PS3 is rumoured to be slashing its price this month)
