Its An Aquired Taste...The Old Stuff I Mean...

I remember when Marillion first came on the scene, 1983,4,5; I went to see them "live", Fish et al and all were thinking as we left is "...he's f**king ripping off Gabriel and Genesis..."!!

Am very fond of the old Genesis, especially the albums "Nursery Cryme", "Musical Box", "Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" and "Selling England By The Pound". It was all theatre, the songs, sets, the way Gabriel acted and behaved, I also loved listening to Steve Hackett-the proggier and more hippy it became, the more I liked it. Latter day Genesis, "And Then There Were Three", "Duke", "Abacab" onwards should, I suppose, be regarded as a different band as the sound, the songs, the influences are all so different. Collins has given them more of a jazzy sound, especially with Daryl & Chester and respect for that, they are a tight unit, but I always harken back to the old days and "Suppers Ready".

As Panda would say, I'm just a f**king old hippy who has never grown up!
