I don't think he's a judas in the same way Andy Marshall was...

I think people are just angry at how the deal was done, in secret, leaving the club the very second he was able to. I can understand why people are a little hurt at that, given that he was injured for most of last season anyway, so to some degree, would have been polite to have left on good terms.
