I was once attempting to chat up two Czech girls in a Prague club

One spoke very broken English and the other none. This wasn't going too well until in desperation I said "Karel Poborsky". That broke the ice as I struggled to name (& pronounce) Czech sports stars and they told me obscure names followed by, say, "tennus" or "fotbol". Alright, I didn't get a shag, but it was a far more entertaining evening thanks to Poborsky.
