Well I still care!

Our best player who did not miss a game all season suddenly gets "injured" before an FA Cup game against a Premiership club who he then joins, leaving him free to play for them for the remainder of the competition. We were just supposed to accept the excuse that he was injured and play a weakened team giving us no chance of a win.
