he was booked for handball, and as it was his second booking he was sent off. In subsequent matches last season I counted around 15 instances where we were awarded free-kicks for handball by the opposition and yet no-one was booked for it. There were also a couple by us and we didn't receive a booking either. This is of course entirely different from Graham Kavanagh who spent the whole afternoon at Carrow Road handballing without even conceding a free-kick but that's because Championship referees were all star-struck by Roy Keane.
At Blackpool it was because the referee believed in the magic of the cup and Blackpool's name and felt that the denizens of the Stanley Matthews Poundland Stand deserved a day out in Norfolk watching their players roll around the floor Bywater-style once they got the lead.
