Billy Sharp

I have read both positive and negative reports on whether Sharp will sign for us or not. The current situation is:

That we are the only club who has tabled a bid that meets Scunthorpes valuation of the player.

He was supposed to be down here yesterday for talks and presumably was given the grand tour and hard sell.

Sheff Wed are supposed to be ready to match our bid and Wolves are sniffing whilst looking at/signing other players.

On Radio Norfolk this morning a chap was saying Sharp didn't want to leave the north (why?) and would prefer a move to Wolves or Wednesday.

Unless there have been other developments in the last 12 hours or so that is it in a nutshell. My guess is that him opening talks with us is an attempt to galvanise the other two into making bids.

I also take the view is that I don't think we should be pursuing a player that would prefer to be somewhere else.
