Anyone know what one of these is in English ?

A thingy you plug into a laptop and which projects your Powerpoint presentation onto a screen.

I thought that an overhead projector was used for acetate slides, and a beamer was used for connections to laptops, etc. At least that's what we call it over here.

Unfortunately, and I'm not joking, our wedding venue last night seriously thought that I was asking them to hire me a BMW.
