try the big companies like NU and sedgewicks and Colmans and stuff

go in with your cv and ask to speak to someone in HR. present yourself and ask if they have anything available for over the summer. If they say no, make sure you find out why not - this will help you next time. if they only recruit through agencies, ask them which ones and ask for a contact name, then go to the agency and ask for the contact and say that the person at the company told you to contact them. Never end a conversation without finding at least one new lead.

It's called networking and it's the best way to find a job.
