And Wolves, meanwhile, are offering fairly low bids in the hope that the players concerned will put pressure on their clubs to accept said low offer so that they can get the better personal terms that the £30m promises THEM!!

For instance, if Wolves offer £1.8m for Eastwood and we offer £2m, Southenmd would prefer to accept our bid. But Eastwood would would much prefer the better terms offered by Wolves and so can simply refuse to agree terms with us and effectively force Southend to accept the £1.8m or keep him (hoping they'll be forced to accept the £1.8m while his profile is high since if he has a duff year next year they won't even get that)
