Wolves apperntly had a £1.8m bid for Sharp rejected at the weekend. If they are bidding £1.8m then either we have not actually had a £2m plus bid accepted (as there would then be no point in them biddding lower) or Wolves are just eceptionally dumb.
Meanwhile Tilson has said in the press that they have only had one bid for Eastwood and it was from Wolves and was pathetically low. This again suggests we have not actually made any formal approach.
Maybe I have a fundamental misunderstanding of how the transfer system works but in my book if you want to sign a player then you put a bid in and the other club either accepts or rejects it. If they accept it you then get to speak to the player. You do not spend 2 months "looking at" or "keeping and eye" on a player only to see him then go and sign for a club that puts a proper bid in! Maybe my view of the world is oversimplistic!
I really hope that is not what we are doing and that we are actually putting in bids for these targets.
