Because it's so corporatised & controlled these days. Huge fences, security guards, car park passes, vastly over-subscribed for tickets, mass confusion over ticketing and parking.

Used to be you bought a ticket, got there any way you could, pitched a tent, watched some bands, took loads of drugs, got soaked and covered in mud.
