They defeated the Isle of Wight

on the island - speedway of course. The Islanders had not lost at home for 3 years. Also, it may be of some limited interest that last season the Lynn Stars won all 3 trophies they entered, and this season they did something never before achieved in British speedway. They won a match 90 - 15, which means they finished 1st and 2nd in all 15 races..
