Siciliy is fecking amazing, my favourite place i think that ive ever been. If you are going, then head for the south coast BUT you'll prob need your own transport. If you can, then Agrigento is beautiful, but the pearl of the south coast is called Eraclea Minoa. I worked there on a dig for 2 years in a row and it truly is amazing.
