MP3 Players

I'm looking to get an MP3 player and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations?

I want one with around about 20gb, but also it's important that it can be used as an external hard drive as my laptop has only got about 18gb. Can you do this with an IPod? I wasn't sure, as it is simplified for music, I though that might make things more tricky.

Any opinions appreciated.
