But we ain't going to be able to compete with the likes of WBA and Wolves are we?
Players like Sharp will see them as bigger clubs (they are) with more of a history of success (they have, albeit ancient history!) and a chance of Premiership football after next season (sad but true-can almost guarantee both will finisn next season in top 6, good odds they'll be top 2 if McCarthy spends wisely and WBA keep core of squad together and add wisely) & also able to compete with us wages wise-as well as being easier to commute to/stay in touch with family.
Of course, we can pay good wages-didn't WBA admit they couldn't pay Hucks what we were offering? But maybe that was a one off and things are different now?
But, looking at that, we don't stand a bloody chance UNLESS Sharp looks outside the box, so to speak, or, famously, gets the Colney and tour of Norwich treatment that has convinced others in the past-and if he believes and has some sort of proof of our ambition-if he is to come and play alongside Earnie -and is told that- he might relish the fact, if he see's himself as replacing Earnie-he may not.
Sorry, a long winded way of saying I don't think we are going to get him. But I am glad the club are seemingly making an effort and Delia et al don't get slagged if he goes elsewhere.
