Unfortunately I can't see this turning into anything but a long drawn out saga that ends with him choosing to go to someone else (probably Wolves). He said before he went out on holiday last week that nothing will be sorted til he comes back next week.
As Rick Waghorn says, getting a bid accepted is the easy part, but when when the likes of Wolves come in with their £30million tranfer kitty, and Sharp's former striker partner Keogh there, I can't see us being able to compete. Maybe if Earnshaw goes, or we gamble on selling Earnshaw, we'll be able to compete financially, but not on prospects.
Having said that I would love it if we got him. Still 21 and his scoring record is fantastic: considerably over a goal every other appearance, and he's been league 1's top scorer in both of his only 2 seasons as a first teamer.
