The law still allows for capital punishment, but since that contravenes the european hoomen rights wotsit, no judge would pass that sentence, as it'd be successfully appealed, so you'd get locked up forever and ever until you are very very dead.

What would actually happen, of course, is that you'd get shot by the police until you are very very dead, thereby neatly avoiding all that silly trial and justice palaver.
