My dad hated those calls....

He would say hang on a second I'll just get someone to speak to you.

He then plugged in the headphones on my old ghetto blaster (they were big old units in those days), stick on some Iron Maiden, Saxon or Rainbow or whatever I had playing at the time and stick the headphones over the telephone speaker at full volume.

Great stuff. They tended not to call again
