bit of a sweeping statement but

The youth system on the whole is better on the continent, or at least was.
Kids got football and education, too many had to 'choose' subtle of course but its fairly impossible to train three times a week and play on a sunday and still do well at school.
Many also think their career is sorted and School doesn't matter.
On the continent they started giving kids both before we did.
