Yes, Watling stepped in at very short notice and bailed the club out, getting involved again long after that sort of active involvement from him had seen him retire.

But, as Steve says, he just wanted to get in fast and then pass things on, which is when Delia and Michael Wynn-Jones stepped in and bought his-and, I think, other shares-they also put some money in independent of shares I think.

Its probably true to say that Watling and Delia/Michael saved the club btween them. Certainly we owe Sir Geoff a lot, as we do DS/MWJ.
