if we get ?2m I will laugh at them

he scored a few goals over a period of a few months. Over that period his overall performances were so so (he looked preety good compared to the dross he was surrounded with but by overall Prem standards he was mediocre). The second half of the seaosn he was rubbish and he didn't really stand out as a consistent performer the previous season amidst the honest Pros of Div 1 (if he was really worth ?2m he should have really stood out there). So the obvious conclusion is that the few goals he scored over those few months were a lucky fluke. Nothing before or since has suggested he is worth ?2m, largely because he is way too inconsistent. He is a good Fizzy Pop player but a below-par Prem one. Goals grab headlines but they don't tell the whole story of a player's performances (in our case they're good because they give the impression he is better than he actually is, which should enable us to get more than he is really worth - anything from ?1.5m upwards would be great business)
