read a good letter in the observer

saying that the lions is an anachronism and a group of players throw together as a scratch team will never beat a well-drilled southern hemisphere national team again.

it worked ok in the amateur days but now there's so much better teamwork etc that it doesn't have a place in modern rugby.

could be right.
