Unless you go to the touristy things and then, like anywhere, they'll rip you off (still cheaper than UK though).

Oh, and don't buy any Croatian red wine. Stick to the Italian stuff as the Croatian is s**t.

Best fish and seafood I ever ate - very fresh and very cheap and consistently good everywhere. Even better than Spain.

Don't know if your mum will let you go though. It's very close to Bosnia and Montenegro, and they don't speak much English at all. And there are bullet holes all over the place. Dubrovnik itself doesn't show that much evidence of war as it was shelled so badly they had to rebuild much of it.

And don't drive on the coast road if you value your life.
