Taken from a Leeds United message board.
"This club and its supporters have been through enough. We are fanatically loyal and yet supporting this great and massive club seems to get more and more miserable. Even when it seems that things may finally be on the turn we get shot down in totally demoralising circumstances.
It's just not fair. Over the past few years we have endured enough. The current scenario, and dare I say it, League 1 football is just not what we deserve.
This is a top club, and even our most bitter rivals will largely admit that we should be up there challenging for all the big trophies. We as fans certainly deserve it.
While our fans turn up through thick and thin and at astronomical prices, all we ever seem to get in return in the last few years is the odd ray of light surrounded by gloom and bad luck. Others fail to fill their 25,000 stadium for premiership games at £25 a ticket.
Football clubs are not something you can simply swap when you feel like it. If you really care you are signed up for life. We all love football and it should be something that should be a joy to support, but by and large the only enjoyment we've had out of the club we support over the last few years has come in brief patches. It is something which more often than not demoralises ourselves personally.
It is depressing supporting Leeds most of the time and the events of today were just typical of out luck. While others can fluke there way back from 3-0 down in the champions league final, we don't even seem to get an ounce of luck.
Furthermore, there are certain clubs in this league who seem intent on getting us relegated. I knew we'd be back in the bottom 3 unless we one today as soon as I found out that Barnsley were playing Birmingham. They are not the only ones. I can't think of one team who have done us favours all season.
One final note. The club is a HUGELY important part of a city which is the 3rd largest in England and has only one football team. If we do get relegated, the city council need to seriously look at themselves, they have done very little to prevent Leeds having nothing more than 3rd tier football. It's embarrassing. I know there's a limit to what they can do, but they have seemingly done little to even help the club attract investment.
It's not over yet, and I still believe they can do it, but unfortunately this is Leeds United, and as a former employee put it the lady never does smile upon us."
My word, life is hard isn't it? Lol poor old souls.
Makes me think that although we have had another nightmare season, it could be much much worse. Leeds were 90mins away from Premiership football last season!
