His batting was only average to be sure - but always good fun to watch. Can't remember who it was against (might have been the centenary test); but I recall him batting against a very ferocious attack and getting hit regularly and just shaking it off.

Maybe you're right about the fielding (to be honest, being abroad, I haven't seen a lot of cricket in the last ten years). Sadly no fielding highlights on YouTube
