Well, now you change the argument from "Christians" to "US government" ...

And, actually, there were freelancers involved at Abu Ghraib - hired by the US, of course. And the insurgent freelancers would love to be running things (and effectively are in certain areas). The taliban ran an horrendous Islamic regime in Afghanistan (which, incidentally, the US government were perfectly comfortable with while they negotiated an oil pipeline through there ...)

Christians don't have a monopoly on moralising or, indeed, on torturing.

Fair play to the Iranians for apparently treating the Brits well; but then that's half the point. By the way, I don't believe either side in this little affair - it wouldn't surprise me to find out that British patrols have continuously crossed into Iranian waters even if they didn't in this instance.
