Punting's a mug's game?

These people are far safer in Tehran that they ever were aboard ship. It's a pretty stressful situation, granted, but the Iranians cannot risk putting them under any physical duress whatsoever or the wrath of Allah will descend on them from on high and kick their arses to kingdom come. I'd also say they are pretty limited as to the mental duress they can put them under for the same reason. So for these sailors to collapse in blubbering heaps and agree to be paraded by their captors is pretty spineless. Show some bloody backbone and tell them to stick their heads in a pig (OK, that would be going too far). In fact, I'll go further than that and say where is the leadership from the NCOs? They should be keeping the group together providing the moral support to those who need it within the group, and showing a united front of polite non-compliance outside that group to their captors. It's in the job description!

Let's be honest, if you're in the Services in a quasi-hostile area, this is about the least worst bad thing that could happen to you. If you can't cope with that, you shouldn't have joined up.

(And yes, I have been in the forces)
