It's not exactly new

Yes, you might pick up some benevolent billionaire, but you are much more likely to pick up the next Kia Joorbachian. Speaking of which, the situation at Wet Spam will be fascinating over the next 2-3 years. Magnusson very obviously had expectations when he bought the club about where they would be and how much money they would make - what happens if we beat them in the play-off final next season, say? At which point does he s**t himself and pull the plug, because make no mistake he is only there for the money and the ego massage. He has no reason whatsoever to hang on to a losing concern stumbling about in the Championship, and the way these deals are structured he can pull out with almost his entire investment and leave the club galloping up diarhoea drive without a saddle. It very nearly happened to Stoke, and I'm sure there have been a couple of others in recent years.
