I'm not suggesting that the numbers of foreign players are restricted, nor that teams should be forced to play homegrown talent, but capping of wages will likely cause this to happen naturally, which is not a breach of employment law but a forseeable situation due to the higher wages that would be paid in other country's leagues. (For example if Ronaldo were to be offered either £30k to play at United or £30m to play in Milan, which one will he choose?)

If Arsenal fielded a team entirely made up of European players on £30k a year, who would want to stop that? Arsenal are one of the most exciting teams to watch at the moment, who would want to limit their players in that sense?

What I'm talking about is setting a cap that players - international or homegrown - can earn no more than, with additional rulings to prevent certain non-performance based loopholes, before our football industry falls apart, which it inevitably will.
