I was at Wembley earlier and that game confirmed one major doubt: our youth development is appalling and that was made pertinent in terms of the standard of coaching and the level of skill shown and quality of football played by England.

As much as I admire Stuart Pearce's persona, I think he's a rotten choice as Under-21 manager.
