So what?

The players saying they can play in the position the manager wanted them to play. Doesn't mean he's giving in to the stars. It means he wanted to play 2 of the best premiership players in the positions they played for their clubs.

And as for Beckham, he should still be playing for England imo. It's not that odd that a manager would want him in his side.
