I think Sven was the best England manager ever.
People moan that he didn't win a big tournament but in one of those (2002) we only lost in hideous heat to the eventual winners and the other two we only got knocked out on penalties (hardly his fault that English players are penalty chokers).
His competitive record was awesome given a squad of generally overhyped players almost completely lacking in pace/flair and anyone left-footed.
Who was better? Ramsey won a WC in dubious circumstances on home soil when he didn't have to qualify and only 16 teams made the Finals (and Brazil were allowed to be kicked out of it). And he cocked up Big Time in 1970.
Robson seemingly did well in 1990 (though in truth we were crap in the group games and a tad fortunate against Belgium and Cameroon), but it shouldn't be forgotten he was in charge of the 1988 Euros fiasco.
Nobody else has done anything worth mentioning.
