I always thought the stereotype about Americans not appreciating irony was unfair - obviously some don't (as is the case everywhere) but one episode of The Simpsons should be enough to blow a massive hole in the stereotype.

Although watching Dr. Strangelove or any Marx Bros film would also do the trick.
