As a sweeping generalisation, women from some cultures have an attitude towards men and marriage which some men understandably find gratifying - hubby is the boss, her job is to make him happy and run his home nicely, his job is to make money for them both, be kind to her and look after her needs. I know several people who have second-married women from such cultures (eg rural Portuga) lafter tough divorces, and they find it a refreshing change of attitude.
