He played as a centre half to start with. And he was SHIT for quite a while, all arms and legs, gangly like a baby giraffe. I remember him missing an absolute sitter right in front of the Barclay because although he arrived in a blur of limbs, only his knee connected with the ball, sending it miles over the bar.
