No, we don't use Matlab as we write our own routines (not my choice)

We're doing risk calculations on complex financial derivatives. Some take hours (although we're implementing a grid now) and they consume up to 3GB memory and run at 100% CPU usage. Granted the production ones are run on a top end server farm; but for testing they're often run on our own workstations. Just what ancient Wintel boxes are you using?
