But it didn't. It said "Scientists are lying to get grants. There's no point in living clean and avoiding waste, because it's all the sun's fault. Carry on regardless! Oh - and these green f**kers are keeping the 3rd world poor, unlike the decent chaps pushing globalisation, who'd sort out poverty damn sharp, you watch". My jaw dropped at that.

You're right - nobody understands the subject completely, and nobody can predict with any guarantees. But even those of us who think it'd be a good idea to stop s**tting the bed got a sideswipe: they even had a sneer at "the precautionary theory".

Irresponsible. Shame, too: I like Dispatches, normally.
