Pfffffft. Finally heard from my mate in London.

He managed to get to the US embassy, and get his visa too - I was surprised they didn't shut up shop when the bombs started going off. I've texted him to find out what the atsomphere in the embassy was like, but I haven't heard anything back - don't really expect to any time soon. I imagine tensions were heightened.
