The ref had a bad game vs Wigan with one big decision not given. At the time it didn't look a cert penalty and one a ref could make. However, that doesn't mean there is all that stuff you mention for the big clubs. The next week, Arsenal v Blackburn, Arsenal don't get given a clear penalty. These things happen in football.
