I think he was what we needed

in the simple fact that we needed goals, and earnie provided them.
Without his 17 so far we'd be heading down.
Would howard have been a better buy? probably not. Granted he's not far behind earnie in terms of goals now, but he's had all season.
Earnie was a panic buy though, and as OF says, there to appease the fans if nothing else
