Suffice to say, I agree with your point about the unbalalnced squad.
However, I firmly believe its up to a boad to appoint a manager, tell him what his wages and transfer budgets are, then leave him to get on with it.
That is his job, theirs is to make sure these budgets are available to him.
Its then up to the board to notice when the end product on matchdays in regually poor, and take the necessary action.
Others may differ, I suppose it may depend on who is on your board. For me though they are business people who appoint who they believe can run the football side, and should leave that person to it.
