As for Otto's issues: well, I'd say something like Last of the sodding Summer Wine represented far more that was bad about British comedy than Are You Being Served? MY only problem with it (warning: cat about to be set amongst the pigeons on here) isn't really a problem with the programme at all: it's more this whole "oooh, let's all pat ourselves on the back and congratulate ourselves about being so liberal and tolerant" thing when STILL the only homosexual comedy which is popular is that featuring ridiculously camp stereotypes.

For John Inman then, read Graham Norton or Julian Clary now: the day we are truly tolerant of homosexuality is the day other, rather less cliched gay comedians prove just as successful.
