Computer help required...

My PC keeps turning itself off when i'm trying to burn DVDs. I'm pretty sure it is not the DVD drive itself - could it be overheating? Is there some kind of heat sensor in the main case that has dust over it or something? I have just doubled up my RAM, but I dont think this could have an effect on it, could it? It switched itself off on occasion before I increased the memory, but seems to be doing more so now.

Any help gratefully received...
