I use Remote Desktop to connect to machines on the office network all the time

... when working from home, putting in extra hours etc. It's windows to windows when I do it, but I'm sure the concept is the same. The way we get round the firewall issue is by using VPN to get onto the office LAN in the first place - then RDP onto whichever machine/server.

Do you hve VPN access onto your office LAN?
