Because coaches all along the age group structure have picked Stephen Old out, made him captain, etc. etc.
It's just that every time I've seen him play he's been utter rubbish. Some people back home think he's OK-ish, some think he's utterly useless.
One problem with asking me is that I've been away for so long. Almost all the names I've mentioned are now 30 or older - Bunce, Nelsen, Elliott, Vicelich. Chris Killen I might have recommended that we sign - he was scoring like an oversexed rabbit on Viagra before he did his achillies - bar the fact that after Keggy Keegan let him go from Man City, he went to Oldham and didn't really have much luck at all. He's very happy in Edinburgh (His mum even posts occasionally on the Hibee's version of the Wrath! Classic!) but may not necessarily be elsewhere.
As for the young guns coming through, I've missed nearly 5 years now. I still have an ear to some of the grapevines, but I never get to see any of these guys play. I did catch a few minutes of Andy Boyens playing for someone (Minnesota?) in Canada last time, but that's about it.
