...then just what the f**k IS their cause, exactly?

One of them was quoted as saying (this was some time ago, not long after New York) that there would be "no peace until the black flag of Muslim flies over Downing Street" -I have always remembered that statement.

They must know that its something that will never-ever happen. So are they just in it for the violence? Can anyone explain it? I'm a pretty placid sort of guy, but today I am filled with hatred and anger, and I don't like it. As people have been saying, its truly frightening. What can we do?
