Rick Waghorn - I don't understand

"Norwich have always brought through players and produced good players - even going back to the days of Graham Paddon. We're glad to see the Irish lads there."

Does that mean we brought through Paddon - which we didn't? Or that Paddon worked on our youth side and I've forgotten it?
